New Patients

Thank you for choosing Rubino Dentistry for your oral health needs! Every new patient is an exciting opportunity for the Rubino team. It is important for you to receive a thorough and comprehensive exam at your first visit. If you have an acute dental emergency, we will sometimes delay the comprehensive evaluation until a follow up visit and treat the urgent need first. The comprehensive visit also gives you the opportunity to get more acquainted with us. We welcome your questions!

You can expect the following to happen during your first appointment with us:

  • An on-time visit! This appointment time is with Dr. Rubino and possibly the hygienist so please be at our office at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time. If you must cancel or reschedule an appointment, it is very important that you notify us 48 hours in advance.
  • A personal, private interview starts with a staff member during which you can: assist us in reviewing your medical and dental histories, tell us your dental health and esthetic goals, and let us know what you expect. The Dr. Rubino will complete this important part of you initial visit.
  • Multiple detailed exams by Dr. Rubino (and a dental hygienist): a soft tissue evaluation and oral cancer screening, TM joint/muscle evaluation, detailed charting of all dental structures (missing teeth, crowns, etc.), use of a laser systems for early, more accurate detection of cavities, any necessary digital X-rays and diagnostic models, intra-oral and extra-oral video examinations.

Your dental goals are crucial in the development of your customized treatment plan. At a follow up visit, you and Dr. Rubino will discuss your dental future in detail. This will afford you the best opportunity to make an informed decision on the specifics of your treatment. Options are often available and we encourage our patients to ask questions. We give our patients a detailed folder of material that includes a CD that has video presentations explaining many of your procedures and includes post-operative instructions.  Our business assistant will also be ready to explain the many financial options we offer so that each patient can receive the best dentistry that they deserve.
