The dental examination is a diagnostic evaluation of a patient’s overall oral health and hygiene.
During a comprehensive exam, we will review your medical and dental health histories and discuss your dental health and goals. This is followed by a detailed examination which can include the following:
- Detailed charting of teeth and gums
- Evaluation of soft tissues
- Oral cancer screening
- TMJ muscle evaluation
- Any necessary digital X-rays
- Intraoral and extraoral photos
- Check for signs of decay or periodontal disease
- Discuss proper cleaning
- Remove stains or debris
- Create a digital dental impression
